THE MINIMUM WAGE HAS BEEN SET FOR 2022
The figure that will be valid for 2022 on the Turkish minimum labor wage has been determined. President Erdogan announced the abolition of taxes on the minimum wage.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the minimum wage figures for 2022.
The minimum wage for 2022 was a net of 4 thousand 253 TL. The minimum wage increase stood at 50.54 percent.
The minimum wage for 2022 was 5 thousand 4 TL gross and the cost to the employer was 5 thousand 879 TL.
The main lines of Erdogan’s speech are as follows:
“As is known, the minimum wage for the next year is determined in December of each year under the supervision of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. Decemberization is the beginning of this year, as we started at the beginning of December this year, in December next year, the employer of the employee will continue its work by getting together.
The minimum wage increase, which represents the highest increase in the last 50 years, was realized at the level of 50 percent. With this increase, we have shown our determination not to crush our employees in the face of price increases. Our employees deserve more in the current process in which we are in our country. There is no employer without an employee, there is no employee without an employer.
As Turkey grows, as its opportunities increase, our employees will get the share they deserve from this. No one should engage in any speculation, neither through the employer, nor through the employee. He should not abuse them either.
DOLLAR OUTFLOW FROM ERDOGAN
In the past, the approaches such as “it is necessary to determine the minimum wage by making an account on the dollar” because “the dollar was this” are nothing more than the abuse of this country by the current employee employer at this point. I have to ask these. In your past, I wonder if you work people with dollars in a country where there is a Turkish lira? Our money is obvious. It is also the Turkish Lira. There are some problems right now. Evelallah, we will overcome these problems as soon as possible.
We are determined to put an end to the uncertainty caused by the recent fluctuation in the exchange rate and the associated exorbitant price increases as soon as possible.
We will continue to take the necessary steps to accelerate the growth of our country. With the new measures that we will implement in the coming days, we will go a serious way towards achieving stability and trust.
TAXES ARE REMOVED FROM THE MINIMUM WAGE
In our country, the minimum wage has been exempt from taxes for decades. Together with the new minimum wage regulation, we are implementing this aspiration that has been talked about for decades. We are abolishing income tax and stamp duty on the minimum wage from the beginning of next year. With the removal of these two Turkish government taxes, we save the employer from the additional burden of 450 TL.
Neither sworn interest rate and exchange rate speculators, internal and external enemies of Turkey, nor a handful of muhteris can determine the future of our country. Together, we will determine the future of this country of 84 million.”

THE WORKER HAD ASKED FOR ‘AT LEAST 4 THOUSAND’
On the day of the third round of minimum wage negotiations, the employee and employer sides had pronounced the first figures. TURKSTAT did not disclose the calculation of the minimum cost of living for a single worker, which it submits to the commission every year, this year.
The General Director of the Study, stated that he considers the minimum subsistence amount of TISK to be 3 thousand 100 and that of Türk-Iş to be 3 thousand 900.
Türk-Iş, which has not yet announced a figure on what the 2022 minimum wage should be, stated that it wanted ‘at least 4 thousand TL’ after this meeting.
It was emphasized that an offer that would remain below this figure would not be accepted.
According to the information obtained by December 18, at yesterday’s third meeting, where the parties met, Türk-Iş did not ask for TL 3,903. Atalay, the Head of Türk-Iş, had forced over 4 thousand TL.
